I published my last drawing in the album titled: the Portal. I do not draw too often. Many drawings after the evacuation were so negative that I did not want to see them every day. I did not care to explore too much this phenomenon (how many pictures of the apocalypse can we see before becoming depressed or nihilistic?). On the other hand, once in a while, by pure curiosity, or at times when the energy becomes too unsettled inside of me, I do a drawing. The last one called the "Alliance", brought me new understanding. Actually, by doing this website, new understanding seems to come. I am excited but at the same time I feel suspended in a field of unbelief.
Red Sun was created shortly after the evacuation. I did not know it at the time, but the term the Israelis were using to warn of a coming Kazzam was "Sharor Adom", which meant red dawn. During that period, I was also taken by the strange desire to draw a specific symbol, which we can see on the throat of the figure. I realized later that the symbol was strangely similar to the Sumerian emblem of the four regions (see Zecharia Sitchin in "The Wars of Gods and Men"). Can you see the small figure on top (3 circles form the
head, as if the figure wears a gaz mask). Behind it are torches of fire. This small figure seems to have black wings, as the wings of a bat. This drawing was done only with ink. I recall hating the whole process not knowing where my erratic hands were leading me.
The transmitter (sketch in black and white) took about 2 minutes to do. We can see a flying object coming down as to open the eye of a labyrinth. From the mouth of the figure, we can see pages being released. The eye on the labyrinth coulsd also be the ear, if we were to look at the picture in a lateral way. There is a form of transmission going from the UFOs, to the eye (or ear), the mouth, and what appeared to be (on the right side) a pen or a transmitter sending waves...as in a radio station.
"They put images into my head. The world is blowing up. My son is dead. Why do I have to die Dad?" These words are taken from the movie "Communion" (Director Philippe Mora, 1989). The experiences and images described by the actor Christopher Walken, are strangely similar to many of my drawings. I came to believe that the images I draw are somehow downloaded from my memory. Somehow, the originators of these images hide their identities behind these images. They speak to us symbolically. The album "The Circus" reveals more of that message, and also of the strange similarities between this movie (Communion), and my own drawings. Again, I saw the movie about a year after I left Israel. These drawings were done prior seeing the movie.
